FOXLOW
(aka -
Foxton, Foxley
)
William Foxley, yeoman of the parish of Yolgrave, 1768[/69]
Will dated 3/1/1768[/69] mentions:
- "whereas I am possessed of a Freehold house two Gardens a kitchen and one stable lying in Yolgrave ... now in the ... Occupation of Martha Foxley my Mother now I do hereby give and bequeath the same unto Richard Singleton of the parish of Saint Pauls Covent Garden Victualler whom I make sole Executor"
- Witnesses: Caleb Corbet, Thos Steed, Chris Boyce & Robt Body
Probate granted 27/1/1768[/69] to Richard Singleton
The PCC copy of this will has the name Foxton in the margin, but the name is given as Foxley in the actual will. William's burial doesn't appear in the Youlgreave parish register, but from other entries (such as his mother Martha's burial a few years later) it seems he actually went by the name Foxlow.
