Thomas Flint, farmer of Tideswell, 1844
Will dated 2/2/1844 mentions
- All personal estate and effects to daughter Caroline Flint during her life then to her son George Flint.
Subject to: Caroline to give all the weaving equipment to daughter Charlotte Robinson, wife of John Robinson of Tideswell, weaver.
- Thomas is "well entitled to" a piece of land at Town head in Tideswell with three messuages thereon erected. Also another piece of land nearby with a "building or shippen" erected on it. He disposes of these as follows:
- The messuage, and land on which it stands, adjoing Mr Stansfield's property, which is now used as a weaving shop, and the kitchen adjoining, and the use of a road at the end of a house occupied by Thomas Pickford, together with as much land as is required to build a privy at the south end of Thomas's garden, to Thomas's son Matthew Flint of Tideswell, Weaver. This is subject to Matthew paying £10 towards the £30 debt that Thomas has to the Steward and Trustees of the Litton Sick Society.
- The adjoining messuage (which Thomas now lives in), and the land on which it stands to his said daughter Caroline Flint for life then to her son George. This is also subject to the payment of £10 by Caroline towards the debt.
- The third messauge, adjoining the second above, and currently occupied by Thomas Pickford to son John Flint of Cressbrook, weaver, subject to the same £10 charge. The other piece of land, and the building or Shippen also goes to son John, subject to a further charge of £5 payable as 20 shillings on my decease, and annually thereafter to my daughter Charlotte Robinson.
- Grandson George Flint, and friend Francis Blackwell of Cressbrook appointed executors and trustees.

- "I give ... all and singular my household goods ... to my son John Flint ... and all that my several Barn and Cow House situate in ... Tideswell ... known as the Back Lane ... to my said son John Flint"
- "I also give ... one of the several cottages ... commonly called ... the Tideswell Townhead Cottages ... in which he is at present dwelling ... to my son Matthew Flint"
- "I give ... one of the four several aforesaid cottages ... know by the name of Tideswell Townhead Cottages ... next to Matthew Flint ... to my son James Flint"
- "I give ... one of the ... Tideswell Townhead Cottages ... now occupied by Thomas Hill unto my son William Flint"

Thirty Pounds ... on his attaining the age of twenty one ... if he should die before ... his share to go to his father ... if both die before ... to the late James Flint's children"

Matthew Flint, weaver of Tideswell, 1861/83
Will dated 12/5/1861 mentions
- "I give ... all and singular my real and personal estate ... consisting of ... the dwelling house in which I reside ... with the right of road in front of the houses in the occupation of my sister Caroline Flint and William Hunstone ... to my dear wife Grace Flint ... and at her decease ... all the above mentioned properties shall be sold ... and the proceeds ... be divided between my sons Thomas Flint and Alexander Flint equally"
- "I am indebted to my son Thomas Flint in the sum of three pounds for money lent by him to me"
- "I appoint my said sons Joint Executors"
- Witnesses: Thomas Walker, Tideswell & William Hunstone, Tideswell.
Probate granted 24/7/1883 by the oath of Alexander Flint, one of the executors, reserving power for Thomas Flint. Testator died 14th May 1861.
Alfred Flint of Tideswell, 1919/22
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me ALFRED FLINT of Tideswell in the County of Derby
Labourer Whereby I REVOKE all former Wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me
and declare this only to be mylast Will and testament I APPOINT my sons SAMUEL FLINT and
ALFRED FLINT (herinafter referred to as "my trustees") to be the TRUSTEES and EXECUTORS of
this my will I GIVE DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all my estate and effects of whatever nature or kind
unto my trustees IN TRUST after payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses for
my dear wife Ann Flint for her own absolute use and benefit if she shall beliving at the time
of my death AND I DIRECT that should my said wife predecease me my trustees shall then hold
the residue of my estate and effects IN TRUST for all my children who shall have attained the
age of twenty one years or married under that age PROVIDED that if any child of mine shall have
died leaving a child or children, him or her surviving then such issue shall take and if more
than one then equally between them the share which his or her or their parent would have taken had such
parent survived me IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set myhand this 10th day of November One
thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

the same time who at his request in his presence andin the presenceof each other have herunto
subscribed our names as witnesses.
