Rodger Bagshall, husbandman of Haslebadge in the parish of Hope, 1679

In the name of God Amen I Rodger Bagshall of Haslebadge in the parish of Hope in
the County of Derby husbandman being sick in Body but of sound & perfect minde & memory praised
be to Almighty God for the same I do here make and ordaine this my present Last Will & Testament in
manner & forme following that is to say First & principally I do Comend my xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Soule into the hands of Almighty God Hopeing through the merits death & Passion of my Saviour Jesus
Christ to have full & free pardon & forgiveness of all my sins & to Inherit Everlasting life & my body
I Commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereafter named & as
touching the disposistion of all such Temporall estates as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow
upon me in peace among my Children I give & dispose thereof as followeth first I will that all
my debts & funerall Charges be paid & discharged Also I give & bequeath unto George Bagshaw ^my grand child
fower pounds to be paide to him within one whole yeare next after my decease Also I give
and bequeath unto William Bagshaw my Grandchild one pound to be paid to him within
one whole yeare next after my decease Also I give & bequeath to Rodger Bagshall my Grandchild
fower pounds to be paide to him within one whole yeare next after my decease Also I give to
Rodger Bagshall my best little Coate & my best breeches Also I give & bequeath unto Thomas
Bagshaw James Bagshaw John Bagshall & Ann Bagshall ^my Grandchildren every one of them five pounds
to be paide within one whole yeare next after my decease Also I give & bequeath unto Thomas
Barker ^son of Robert one pound to be paide within one whole year next after my decease Also I give and
bequeath unto The other six of Robert Barker children three pounds & to be equally devided
amongst them & to be paide within one whole yeare next after my decease Also I give and
bequeath unto Francis Barker children one pound to be equally devided amongst them and to
be paide within one whole yeare next after my decease Also I give & bequeath to George Fox
and Mary Fox ether of them [twenty] shillings to be paid when the shall come to the age of
one & twenty years & if it shall happen that ether of them dye before come to age then it should
go to the other then living & if the both dy then it go to my executor Also I give to Robert
Barker Francis Barker Elizabeth Barker wife to Francis Ann Bagshall and Alice Wilde every
one of them one shilling Also I give to Lawrence Fox & Katherine Fenick ether sixpence Also
I give to Ann Chadwick Five shilling And all the rest of my personal Estate Goods Chattels
quick & dead moveable or unmoveable or of what kind so ever the same be within the Relms of
England I give and bequeath unto my loveing son Francis Bagshall and make him my sole
executor of this my last will and Testament I do hereby revoake disanull & make void all
wils & testaents by me heretofore made in witness whereof I the said Rodger Bagshaw
to this my last will & Testament have set my hand & seale the first day of August
In the one & Thirteeth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second
by the grace of God of England Scotland France & Ireland King Defender of the feath
