| Father | James Robinson |

| Children | Ann, Mary, James, Emmet, Hannah, Joseph, James, Sarah, Anthony, Jane, Mary Ann |
Thomas was born in Tideswell in 1756, the son of James and Catherine (1). He had an older brother Joseph (2), and a younger sister Elizabeth followed in 1758 (3), then a brother James in 1760 (4), and another sister Anne in 1762 (5).
His mother died a couple of months after Anne was born (6), but his father remarried just 6 months later, in December 1762, to Ann Drable (7). His sister Anne died the following spring (8), but a half sister Mary followed a year later (9), a few months before the death of his brother James (10).
Thomas followed into his father's trade as a blacksmith. He married Emma Ollerenshaw in 1781 (11), presumably upon realising that Emma was pregnant, as their first child Ann was born about 6 months later (12). Their next daughter Mary was born in 1784 (13), and their their eldest son James followed in February 1786 (14). Thomas's stepmother died that summer (15), and then his eldest daughter Ann died in the autumn (16).
His next daughter Emmet was born at the end of 1788 (17), just a few months before his father's death (18). 1791 got off to a bad start, with son James dying in January (19), then daughter Emmet in February (20). However another daughter Hannah was born in the April (21). Their next child was probably son Joseph, although his exact date of birth is unknown (22). After this came another son James in 1796 (23), and then a daughter Sarah in 1798 (24). Their son Anthony was born in 1801 (25), but died the following year (26), just a couple of weeks after son Joseph (27).
Happier times seemed to arrive with the birth of daughter Jane in the summer of 1803 (28), just a couple of months before eldest surviving daughter Mary's marriage to Samuel Woodroofe, a local joiner (29). This marriage soon produced Thomas's first grandchild Hannah (30), but then his rollercoaster of a life took another dip - eldest daughter Mary died about a month after the birth of her daughter (31), followed by youngest daughter Jane about a week later (32), and then granddaughter Hannah a few days after that (33). His youngest daughter Mary Ann was born in 1805 (34).
Thomas wrote his will in April 1823 (35), and was dead less than a fortnight later (36). He left his business to his only survivng son James; whilst his two daughters, Sarah and Mary Ann, were to share his house (35). His wife survived him by seventeen years (37)(38).
