Hannah's signature at the time of her marriage in 1866 (5)
| Father | Isaac Goodwin |
| Mother | Hannah Harrison |
| Husband | Robert Bingham |
| Children | Mary Jane |
Hannah was born in Monyash on 14th February 1842, the daughter of Isaac and Hannah (1). She had three older brothers William aged about 11, Isaac about 3 and Reuben 1; and three older sisters Harriet about 13, Kezia about 8, and Charlotte about 6. Her only younger sibling, Ellen, was born about 3 years later (2). (was there a brother John Thomas born about 1849 too?)
Sometime before 1851, the family moved to Cressbrook (3) where, as Hannah grew up, she worked as a weaver (4).
She married Robert Bingham, a fellow weaver (who most likely worked at the same mill) from Litton, on 10th November 1866 in Tideswell church (5). They initially lived in Litton, where their only daughter, Mary Jane, was born in April 1868 (6).
Sometime prior to the 1871 census (7), they moved to Cressbrook, probably to be nearer to their place of work. Her father died the following February (8), and her mother in February 1881 (9). Sometime before the census of April 1881, Hannah and her family had moved to Ashton under Lyne, where they were living at 79 Princess Street, next door to Robert's brother William and his family. Her sister in law Alice (the wife of her brother William) was visiting them at the time. They were all still weaving for a living (10).
By 1891 they had moved back to Cressbrook again (11). Their daughter Mary Jane left home to get married that summer (12), and her husband developed epilepsy, and died the following year (13), thus leaving Hannah all alone. She moved into Ravensdale, a row of cottages just outside Cressbrook (this photograph is copyright Peter Cox), where she spent her last few years, dying there on 20th November 1898 (14). She was buried in Tideswell 3 days later (15).
